Mark A. Gannaway, CPCU Arcana’s strategy will be executed under the leadership and direction of Mark Gannaway, CPCU. Mr. Gannaway has twenty-eight (28) years of insurance experience with financial institutions such as mortgage companies, banks, finance companies and credit unions. Mr. Gannaway understands the needs of the financial community and is well respected within the industry having pioneered the selling of insurance through lenders. He has a strong background in underwriting and product development, superior program knowledge on voluntary and involuntary insurance products, strong sales and vendor networks, and is proficient with loan applications, loan servicing and insurance agency management software systems. Former clients include Bank of America, First Union/Wachovia, The Bank of New York, and Centex Home Equity Corporation.
J. Daniel Caskey J. Daniel (Danny) Caskey, Executive Vice President, manages the flood and property programs for both financial institutions and insurance agencies, with his primary focus on sales, marketing, and product development. Mr. Caskey recently joined Arcana after nine years with Tower Hill Insurance Group, Inc. Mr. Caskey’s responsibilities included business development, claims operations, and underwriting of the property and casualty insurance products marketed in Florida and the Southeastern region. Prior to Tower Hill, Mr. Caskey was the Vice President of National Flood Services, Inc., a flood specialty company. Mr. Caskey shared the day to day company operations with the President, including the development and management of twenty insurance carrier relationships and providing flood insurance expertise to a national agency base of over 5000 insurance agencies. His largest marketing accomplishment was the development and rollout of the Hartford Fire Insurance Company‘s national flood insurance program. Mr. Caskey also held executive positions for 11 years with American Modern Home Insurance Group with emphasis on flood and property insurance for both residential and commercial property. Markets included mortgage lending institutions, banks, credit unions, managing general agents, and retail independent agents. Mr. Caskey was also instrumental in the creation and sales process of American Modern Home’s flood insurance program through a Write-Your-Own arrangement with the NFIP and FEMA.
Matthew C. Wagner Matt serves as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Arcana Insurance Services as well as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for CEM Insurance Company, both with offices in Buffalo Grove, Illinois and Dallas, Texas. Matt began his career as an attorney practicing insurance defense and commercial litigation with a prominent Chicago law firm, where he transitioned his practice to insurance regulatory compliance and corporate law. He is responsible for all legal, compliance and regulatory affairs of Arcana.
Gerald C. Cain Gerald C. Cain, Senior Vice President is Director of Client Services and is responsible for the internal and external day to day service issues from Arcana’s clients and companies. Mr. Cain previously was the Executive Vice President of Tristar Financial Insurance Agency, Inc. in charge of operations and client services. Prior to joining Tristar, Mr. Cain served as the Presidents of Walker-Fischer Agency and Mel MC Reynolds Company, where he is was responsible for overall management of sales, client services, operations, claims, personnel, and contract negotiations with insurance companies and agents. Before his insurance career, Mr. Cain served as Vice President of Texas Commerce Bank, now Chase, for fifteen years where he managed collections, and direct and indirect lending.
Susan Gropp Susan Gropp, Senior Vice President, is manager of E & S brokerage, underwriting operations and claims. She has 28 years in the insurance business and has extensive experience working with domestic, foreign and alien markets. She has an outstanding reputation in the industry for service and knowledge of property and casualty underwriting and claims with an exceptional record of successfully managing both departments. Her experience and longevity as an executive manager have also made her instrumental in bringing in accounts. Ms. Gropp has recently been re-elected as a director of the Texas Surplus Lines Association and received the 2005 Presidentē“ Award. In her previous years of working in the insurance industry she most recently was three years at Maclean Oddy & Associates as Senior Vice President over underwriting. Prior to Maclean Oddy she was director of claims and auto operation services at Tristar for eleven years. Prior to Tristar, Ms. Gropp was also director of claims and operations at Walker-Fischer and Alexander and Alexander. During her 25 years of insurance experience, Susan has underwritten auto, excess general liability, force place auto and property, garage including DOL and GKLL, general liability, property, REO and umbrella. Because of her claims experience, she has also been successful in acquiring claims authority from several markets including Underwriters at Lloyds. Ms. Gropp reorganized claim departments and implemented claims systems for several companies where she has been employed, and has contracted for outside companies as well.
