Mark A. Gannaway, CEO
Arcana’s strategy is executed under the leadership and direction of Mark Gannaway, CPCU. Mr. Gannaway has 35 plus years of insurance experience, with over 18 years as a U.S. Coverholder for Lloyds of London. Before establishing Arcana Insurance Services in 2005, Mr. Gannaway served as President of Safeware Insurance Agency, Chief Marketing Officer for CEM Insurance Company, and Executive Vice President roles for Tristar MGA, Inc. and A & F Insurance Agency. Mr. Gannaway has a strong background in underwriting, product development, risk evaluation, sales and is proficient in development and the utilization of software processes. Mr. Gannaway understands the needs of the insurance industry and the clients his firm represents.
Ted Lamb, President & COO
Ted Lamb joined Arcana Insurance Services as President and COO in January 2016. Mr. Lamb has an extensive executive leadership background having served as the President of a commercial banking institution as well as managing multiple technology organizations. He was a managing consultant for national brokerage firms having led multiple start-ups and on-going venture capital entities. Mr. Lamb is also experienced in managing mergers and acquisitions within the financial and technology business sectors. During his tenure at IBM, Ted was a management team member creating a real estate-driven Outsource Management Business service introduction. Ted holds a BA in Business from the University of Tennessee and an MBA in Marketing and Finance form the University of Colorado.
Susan Gropp, Executive Vice President
Susan Gropp, Executive Vice President, is the manager of E&S brokerage, underwriting operations and claims at Arcana Insurance Services. She has more than 35 years of experience in the insurance business and has an extensive working knowledge of domestic and foreign markets. She has an outstanding reputation in the industry for service and product knowledge of property and casualty underwriting and claims, with an exceptional record of successfully managing both. Ms. Gropp was formerly on the board of directors for the Surplus Lines Stamping Office of Texas (SLTX) and on the Texas Surplus Lines Association (TSLA) board. She also previously served as the President of the Texas Surplus Association.
David Stephens, Chief Information Officer
David Stephens, Chief Information Officer, is responsible for Arcana’s technology and application development. David brings over 25 years of IT experience to the firm. Having served as CIO for several mid-sized organizations, including the City of Pittsburgh, PA and the City of Plano, TX, has provided Mr. Stephens a global perspective of IT applications, operations and customer service. Supporting mission critical services and on-line transactional processing in 7×24 environments has helped hone Mr. Stephens’ technical skills. David holds a BA in Economics from the University of Illinois, an MBA from the University of Hartford, and a PhD from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Martha Teears, SVP – Manager, National Accounts Group
Ms. Teears has over 30 years of Insurance and major account relationship experience within the insurance and financial sectors. Prior to working in the Insurance industry, she served in multiple managerial roles within the commercial banking sector. Since joining the Insurance industry, Ms. Teears has focused on building expertise in risk management exposures relating to catastrophic occurrences such as fire, floods and hurricanes. She has extensive knowledge and experience in Flood insurance. Her managerial roles within the insurance industry include the management of key corporate relationships whose business footprints encompass both regional and national facilities. Coupled with her knowledge of Insurance related risks, Ms. Teears has extensive experience in the development and management of data base risk analytics.
Patrick Admire, Claims Manager for Arcana
Patrick Admire, Claims Manager for Arcana, has over 18 years of experience in claim administration, with emphasis on property, automobile, and general liability settlements. Prior to joining Arcana, Mr. Admire worked for two national insurance companies and a large third-party administrator. He has extensive experience in liability investigations and field appraisals for real properties and consumer vehicles.
