Mark A. Gannaway, CEO

Arcana’s strategy is executed under the leadership and direction of Mark Gannaway, CPCU. Mr. Gannaway has 30 plus years of insurance experience, including executive roles in both insurance company and MGA operations. Before establishing Arcana Insurance Services in 2005, Mr. Gannaway served as President of Safeware Insurance Agency, Chief Marketing Officer for CEM Insurance Company, and Executive Vice President roles for Tristar MGA, Inc. and A & F Insurance Agency. Mr. Gannaway has a strong background in underwriting, product development, risk evaluation, superior program knowledge on voluntary and involuntary insurance products, strong sales and vendor networks, and is proficient with loan applications, loan servicing and insurance agency management software systems. Mr. Gannaway understands the needs of the insurance industry and financial community and is well respected within both industries. We welcome your questions.

Susan Gropp, Executive Vice President

Susan Gropp, Executive Vice President, is manager of E&S brokerage, underwriting operations and claims. She has more than 29 years, in the insurance business and has extensive experience working with domestic and foreign markets. She has an outstanding reputation in the industry for service and knowledge of property and casualty underwriting and claims, with an exceptional record of successfully managing both. Her experience and longevity as an executive manager have also made her instrumental in winning accounts. Ms. Gropp has been a past director of the Texas Surplus Lines Association and is currently the 2012 President. Previously, she spent three years at Maclean Oddy & Associates as Senior Vice President over underwriting. Prior to that, she spent 11 years as director of claims and operations at Tristar. Prior to Tristar, Ms. Gropp was director of claims and operations at Walker-Fischer and Alexander and Alexander. During her 29 years of insurance experience, Ms. Gropp has underwritten auto, excess general liability, force place auto and property, garage (including DOL and GKLL), general liability, property, REO and umbrella insurance. Her market relationships include Adriatic, Balboa, Century Surety, Colony, Essex, Great American, James River, Lloyds, Republic Vanguard, Royal SunAlliance, St. Paul/Travelers, Southern County, United States Liability and Zurich. Janice Williams, Vice President, Accounting & Finance

Janice Williams is Vice President of Accounting and Finance, responsible for Arcana’s accounting operations. She brings more than 20 years of accounting experience to the firm, including 15 years in the insurance industry. Ms. Williams’ knowledge extends to the oversight of GAAP, IFRS and Statutory Reporting, including financial analysis and compliance for regulating agencies. Ms. Williams comes to Arcana from SCOR Reinsurance Company where she held the position of Controller and has over 13 years with local direct writers, including five years with Prudential Insurance Company.

Martha Teears, Sr. VP Operations

primary responsibilities are the day-to-day management of the financial services customer care operations and working closely with our account executive in meeting client expectations. She has over 30 years of management experience, 20 of which have been spent in the Insurance Tracking and Risk Management industry which include some of the largest US banks. She also has eight years of banking experience in branch management and lending.

Linda Barnes, Client Services Analyst

Linda Barnes, Client Services Analyst, works closely with our lender clients and executive management on day-to-day processing items and loan servicing documentation. Ms. Barnes has worked in the financial services business for over 24 years and has a great background regarding loan servicing processes, insurance knowledge, and customer service. Ms. Barnes has been with Arcana since its inception and has held several customer service management positions with other firms over her career.

Patrick Admire, Claims Manager

Patrick Admire, Claim Manager for Arcana, has over 13 years’ experience in claim administration, with emphasis on property, automobile, and general liability settlements. Prior to joining Arcana, Mr. Admire worked for two national insurance companies and a large third party administrator. His experience includes liability investigations and field appraisals for real properties and consumer vehicles. Before his career in the insurance industry, Mr. Admire worked over 12 years in the lending industry with various responsibilities including loan restructuring, special asset liquidations and instructing first time homebuyers at educational seminars for VA, FHA, and conventional loan programs.

Flo Wickersham, Assistant Vice President & Senior Underwriter

Flo Wickersham is Assistant Vice President and Senior Underwriter for Arcana. She has over 30 years of underwriting experience in the insurance industry with proficiency in garagekeepers, commercial automobile, property, liability, transportation and program development. Prior to joining Arcana, Ms. Wickersham worked for several well established national MGA operations in both admitted and non-admitted markets and has a tremendous retail agency network.

Anne Morris , Regional Sales Director

Anne Morris, Regional Sales Director, is responsible for sales/business development of Arcana’s insurance products and ancillary services to financial institutions and insurance agencies. She has 25 years of professional sales and account management experience with 17 in property and casualty insurance. Anne has eight years of banking experience with positions in lending and branch management, treasury management services and student loan servicing.
